bappy hirthday you to

For some reason my dad's mind is too smart for normal words so he raised us to mix letters around all the time which made our minds awesome but certain phrases stuck with us such as the title above.

A big warm hug and great Happy Birthday to my dear Mr. L. We celebrated the Tanman's birthday this week at our house and it was oh so fun, oh so packed, and oh SO filling! We swam, played, ate, opened presents, ate again and played some more. It was crazy and I took lots of pictures!

check out grandpa blowing out the candles too!

a bunch of bowl

A few weekends ago grammy, grampy and melly showed up at our house for a visit. We just had so much! They helped with the finishing touches of our move and made me a happy camper. It is quite nice to finally feel settled again. However, there is still a TON more to do to add some felicity to the house but that's for another day (and another blog...) Anywho, we sure appreciated their help and G even let grampy feed him lunch! He thoroughly enjoyed it:

I love grampy's mouth opened wide too!

if it doesn't get all over the place...

When the two of them got cleaned up we headed out for a casual non-competitive game of bowling. The first game was just a warm up. Mel and I were getting strikes and spares left and right. The second game was girls against boys. The pressure got to us. We caved and decided to play Morse code with our scores. Grammy carried our team and we still lost, but she did earn bragging rights over grampy which is very rare. There are only a few still alive to tell the tale of beating The Wade at anything. Per usual, I will let the pictures do the talking.

so bored...

6 month chunk up.... or check-up

I cannot believe that it has already been six months since we met our little one. He is the light of our lives and I honestly cannot remember what it was like without him in my life. Looking back at the pictures of him as a newborn I cannot believe just how tiny he really was! I mean TINY!! Let’s compare the stats:

Newborn check-up (2 days)
6 month check-up
Height
19 ½ inches long – 25 percentile
29 inches long – over 100 percentile
Weight
5 pounds 1 ounce – less than 3 percentile
17 pounds 8 ounces – 50 percentile

Holy chunk much?! This kid is out of control!

At least he is a happy boy! He is just the most darling easy baby ever. Honestly he loves loves loves to cuddle and has to be rocked before bed. He love to rest his head on a shoulder and loves to be read or sung to. Is there a baby sweeter? As of late, the one thing that hands down makes him laugh no matter what is punching Tan in the face! He finds it hilarious and lets us know. We will soon be teaching him “bones” and “high five”… that’ll be the day. He learns so much all the time and gets bored of his toys ALREADY because he’s figured out how they work so it’s pointless to keep playing with them. He loves food (that’s a given) and prefers to chomp on his sippy cup over any other toy. He is just a doll and we love him more than anything. Thanks for being such a sweetheart Guns!!

love,
mom and dad

a place to rest his head

I am happy to say that I have FINALLY finished little G's room! Head on over and check it out!

grand adventure

A few weekends ago Tan and two of his brothers had a convention to go to so we all decided to make a weekend out of it. The six of us (+kids) had a total blast. It was new for us to be on a real "vacation" as parents staying in a hotel and everything but I think all of us handled it pretty well. The boys' meetings didn't last too far into the day which was great timing with the naps. By the time they were done we were all packed and ready to go swim and live it up! After all the fun we had, I say sign me up for a family vacation again! :)

this is the only picture that I have of Mike and Lindsay... sorry!

check out Steve and Erin fitting four people on a tube... impressive!

G's favorite part was the mini rapids!

I enjoy his enthusiastic thumbs up in this picture. I take that as his approval of chilling at the pool all day as long as he's got his bottle.

(i might have put the camera a little to close)
